HVAC/R Technician Training

Learn foundational skills in heating, cooling, refrigeration, system maintenance, electrical concepts, and troubleshooting.

Overview

Program Overview

From inland heat waves to coastal commercial buildings, Southern California depends on well-maintained heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems. This program introduces the core concepts behind those systems — refrigeration cycles, heat transfer, electrical controls, and structured troubleshooting — through online lessons and VR simulations.

  • Self-paced online lessons with guided milestones
  • VR-powered simulations of equipment and procedures
  • Knowledge checks and module assessments
  • Instructor and student-support access during enrollment

Duration & Clock Hours

150clock hours

Estimated 8–12 weeks, subject to curriculum and scheduling confirmation.

Curriculum

Training Modules

  • Refrigerant handling awareness
  • Lockout/tagout concepts
  • Electrical hazard awareness

Credential Preparation & Limitations

  • EPA Section 608

Tuition & Fees

Tuition and fees for this program are being finalized. An advisor will share current costs, what's included, and any available payment options during your consultation.

Student Support

Enrolled students can access instructor guidance, technical help with the learning platform and VR equipment, and career-readiness resources during their enrollment.

Licensing & Regulatory Clarification

Completing this program does not issue a California contractor license. HVAC contracting work in California may require a C-20 license from the Contractors State License Board (CSLB), which has its own experience and examination requirements. VR simulations do not count toward field hours or required supervised experience.
